– BIOGRAPHY –

Simona Boo, born in Termoli ( 1st November, 1985) and raised in the province of Naples, is a singer who decided to devote herself to music after completing her degree in commnunication sciences. Therefore she started studying modern sing with Maestro Carlo Lomanto , then she began performing in small clubs in Naples with a blues band.

In December 2011 Simona Boo founded the “Cultural Boo Team” wherewith still performs a repertoire of several genres covers.

2012 was a year of change. Infact, that July she was hired by the Neapolitan percussionist Ciccio Merolla for his summer and winter tours and was admitted to the Conservatory of Naples San Pietro a Majella, where she received her bachelor degree in  the First Level Course of Jazz in July 2016.

In addition, being also passionate about bossa nova , Simona founded with the bassist Diego Imparato the Brazilian music duo “Comoverão” and recorded the single O Leãozinho (cover Caetano Veloso) link ).

Along with that Simona is a reggae and ska lover too he has collaborated with musician and record producer Dennis Bovell and the Naples Rockers Syndicate and realised a single with the ska  band Neapolitan Inner City Affair:  Eclisse Twist (cover of Mina link) .

Currently she is working at the project of Pietro Condorelli  “Jazz Ideas & Songs” for which she wrote lyrics about his original music and they have performed in the most important jazz festivals.

In June 2015 Simona Boo became the female vocalist of the acclaimed neapolitan Rap band and ragamuffin 99Posse in their tours “Curre Curre Guagliò 2.0” and “Il Tempo, le Parole , il Suono”. The band is still going on tours in Italy and in European capitals.

On 12/07/2016 she promotes the new music album “Festa in Casa de Moraes” with Carlo Lomanto, the brasilian drummer Robertinho Bastos, Giulio Martino (saxophonist), Francesca Masciandaro (flautist), Rocco Zaccagnino (accordionist) and the actor Paolo Cresta.(Experience short movie).

Starting from may 2017 she’s part of the renowned Orchestra Internazionale di PIazza Vittorio directed by Mario Tronco, ex member of the Avion Travel. The show is the Don Giovanni, opera by Mozart where Simona performs the role of Donna Anna, singing the original lyrics translated in Portuguese.
